An article about the homeopathic origins of Nitroglycerine as a heart medicine was published in the January 1986 edition of Circulation, a journal of the American Heart Association.

A well-written article by W. Bruce Fye, MD ABOUT THE DEVELOPMENT OF Nitroglycerine as a medicinal agent -- by our very own Constantine Hering, MD (ALSO KNOWN AS THE FATHER OF American homeopathy) -- appeared in Circulation 1986; 73; 21-29. The article is available for download on the web site of the American Heart Association, at

The article, entitled "Nitroglycerine: A Homeopathic Remedy", is quite responsible in its discussion of homeopathic history. It quotes directly from Hering's proving, and cites Harris Coulter as "a prominent historian of homeopathy." Dr. Fye is listed as being the Chairman of the Cardiology Department at the Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, Wisconsin, an Adjunct Associate Professor of the History of Medicine and Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, and Clinical Assistant Professor a the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
